Joe Lavalley

Joe Lavalley, wife Cheryl and son Mason became members of St Paul’s in the summer of 2004 after a few visits earlier that year. Joe has been an active contributor and leader in the Church School Program at St. Paul’s from the very beginning. He started teaching in the middle school class and went on to teach and create a database of lessons for all the grades during the following 12 years. In all, he has a total of 14 years of service in Church School. During that time Joe established a short-lived youth group. Joe has also been a co-director of the Christmas pageant for the past 10 years. Recently, Joe has been helping Rev. Melanie with St. Paul’s confirmation class. Joe regularly helps out on Shrove Tuesday’s pancake supper. He has also participated in the Lenten series. Joe has served on the handicap accessibly committee and is currently on the building committee. Joe and his family were 3 of the 13 members of St. Paul’s that walked the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. In the last 8 months Joe has retired from teaching and has joined the LEMs. He is also coordinating the St. Paul’s bowling team, the Holy Rollers. Joe works at MIT Lincoln Laboratory as Design Engineer. Joe enjoys watching soccer games, coaching youth sports and going for walks with Cheryl.
