Our Church School
Church School is held on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 a.m. service. Children begin in church and exit, in procession behind the cross and with their teachers, for Church School just prior to the reading of the Gospel. During Holy Eucharist services, the children return to receive communion.
The church school classes are conducted in newly renovated, bright classrooms in the basement level of the Parish Hall. There are adequate emergency exits and we seek to provide the safest environment that is conducive to learning about the Christian faith.
Our Church School is currently divided into three classes: K-2, 3-5 and middle school. Both K-2 and 3-5 have been utilizing a widely used Montessori-based curriculum called Godly Play. Middle school has been following a lectionary-based curriculum.
There is no Church School during holiday weekends (Presidents’ Day, Columbus Day, etc.) and on other occasions. On some Sunday’s when there is no Church School, there is either Children’s Chapel or a monthly Family Service.
