Mission Statement:
|
This group gathers in the Parish Hall for
prayer and conversation while we knit together, making prayer shawls
that are given to those who are ill, shut-in, or going through
difficult circumstances. Some of the recipients are parishioners;
others are people we have been praying for as a parish who are
friends and relatives of parishioners. Most of us work on these
shawls at other times as well, they are “our knitting”, worked on
while waiting at a doctor’s offices or in car pool lines, while
watching TV or talking with a friend. While we work, wherever we
are, a part of out attention is on prayer and on those we pray for
and serve in this way, whether they are known or unknown to us
personally. This is a wonderful ministry that is being carried out
by many church groups of all denominations around the country. We
invite you to join us. We will be
happy to teach you to knit. All you need to get started is needles
size 11 or 13 and 3 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun.
